Daren Anguiano, born and raised in Homestead, has been wrestling since he was 3 years old. As a teenager he won titles in Freestyle, Greco and Folkstyle wrestling. He was born into a wrestling family; both of his older brothers were both state qualifying wrestlers and All-American wrestlers throughout high school and college. He believes that he is destined to teach the art of wrestling to all age levels and has done so for many years. He is currently one of the coaches under Humberto “Duck” Reyna at one of the country’s most prestigious wrestling clubs, Gladiator Wrestling Club. Through Gladiator Wrestling club, Daren has had the privilege of coaching multiple Florida high school state champions from South Dade Senior High School and Christopher Columbus Senior High School, including Carlson Gracie Miami’s own, Mikah Fundora. Daren started his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu career in August of 2018 and has found a second passion in life.

He believes wrestling plays a very important role in BJJ. He places emphasis on the importance of explosiveness while trying to take your opponent down and believes training wrestling with BJJ will make for the most well-rounded BJJ practitioner. Daren takes pride in his coaching and has made it his goal to encourage his students to start strong and finish strong whenever they encounter an issue both on and off the mat.
